QT Is Basically P.T. But Cute

D’awwww

P.T. might be one of the greatest examples of “what could have been” in recent gaming history. Short for Playable Teaser, P.T. was supposedly the beginnings of a Silent Hill collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The demo was out for just a few days before Konami yoinked it and everything related to it from both PSN and the internet. Why? Because pachinko machines.

Konami has, summarily, C&D’d any online projects trying to resurrect it in some playable form. And PS4’s that still have the title on them regularly go for stupid money.

But then we have QT. Which, itself, is very similar to P.T. There’s just one difference; what was once scary is now cute.

Not to say there aren’t jumpscares still in the game. There are; they’re just softened with cutesy little faces and drawings on everything.

As it is, you can download it for PC for free on Itch.io. The creator, Happy Snake Games, also has a Kickstarter going for a trio of games titled the Compendium of Cuteness. The compendium is comprised of QT, a museum exploration game titles Museum, and Kouen, deemed the most experimental of the bunch. So if QT is up your alley, you may want to check it out. Guy’s literally asking for rent money out of it, and it ends on July 15th.
