PS1 Version Of Infamous Game Superman 64 Suddenly Turns Up

Superman

Up, up and OH GOD PLEASE NOT THE RINGS!

There are few games quite so well known and reviled as Superman on the N64 (colloquially titled as Superman 64). It’s commonly cited as being one of the worst games ever made, and having played it myself, that assertion is not too far from the mark. It is a fugly, unenjoyable game.

Little known fact; there was a PS1 version of the game in the works that supposedly fixed a lot of the problems people had with the previous version (massive grain of salt needed for that one). It never released, because Warner Bros. saw the reception of the N64 game and yanked the license away from Titus Interactive. By and large, Titus wasn’t known for high-quality work, I’d argue.

And before you say “Well, Bryan, that might be false equivalency”, look at what they did to Civvie with their Robocop game:

NICE FUCKINRAW *HONK HONK*

Anyway, the full game never really saw the light of day, though a demo did. But a few years back, the full game turned up at auction, and was bought by one Richard Mandel in 2013, whose post on DeviantArt detailing this is now down due to “scene drama“. Which is coincidental, because the story that was there featured a fair amount of it, when it was apparently coherent.

Well, your chance to download it from DeviantArt has now passed, then. But that’s okay; it was a Titus game, it’ safe to say it’s shit (edit: having tested it out, I think I was wrong about this. More on that soon). That said, some nice person uploaded it to Internet Archive, so you can find out for yourself.
