Polaroid Announces the Cube+ Mini Action Cam

Polaroid Cube+

Hot on the heels of its debut at CE Week 2015, Polaroid’s next generation lifestyle action camera, the new Wi-Fi-enabled Polaroid Cube+ is coming to users this year.

“We knew we had to take an entirely different approach when we introduced the Polaroid Cube,” said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid. “The action camera category was – and still is – a crowded space, so the ability to differentiate while adhering to the core values of our brand was paramount. The Polaroid Cube is a fun, easy-to-use, affordable lifestyle-centric action camera that immediately struck a chord with consumers around the world. We’re excited to grow the Polaroid Cube family with the introduction of the Wi-Fi enabled model and to open up pre-orders today for those consumers who are eager to be first in line when it ships this summer.”

The Polaroid Cube+ combines the ease of use that Polaroid is known for with next-generation features including Wi-Fi, image stabilization, enhanced low light performance, and increased memory capacity with the ability to record with up to a 64GB micro SD card. The Polaroid Cube+ also allows users to record 1080p full-HD video at 60 frames per second and take eight megapixel still images.

The Polaroid brand took the feedback received from its initial cube and added Wi-Fi to the new Cube+ which makes capturing and sharing content as fun, seamless, and instantaneous as possible. Compatible with iOS and Android devices via the Polaroid Cube+ app, users can sync the camera with their smartphone or tablet to capture and share their videos and photos from virtually anywhere—and without the need to download their content to a computer.  Not only can users use the app as a remote viewfinder to frame their shots, it also gives them the ability to control settings, begin/end recording, capture stills and edit, save, print or share, all while on-the-go.

Polaroid Cube+

While the initial Cube was a nice little camera, it was a little lite on the things it could do. It’s nice to see that Polaroid  has taken the feedback it received from its first model when designing its successor. The Polaroid Cube+ lifestyle action camera is available for pre-order now at www.polaroidcube.com/cubeplus and will ship at the end of August for $149.99 which makes it a tempting action camera for the price.
