People are excited about Pokemon Go, the augmented reality game that is coming to smartphones later this year. But while we got a nice idea of what to expect from the commercial, we didn’t get to see an actual gameplay.
Things have changed now thanks to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas this past week. The footage comes from a talk that took place during the show on augmented reality.
It should be noted that this was not a Nintendo event, instead given by John Hanke of Niantic. Niantic is a partner that is working on Pokemon Go and has worked on the AR mobile game Ingress.
The game has a 2016 release year, but no definitive date has been given. Check out the footage below to see some Pokemon action in AR form.
