That Pokemon Game for the Switch is a new Pokken Tournament

And the dreams of a traditional console Pokemon experience are shattered.

Joining the already announced ARMS and Splatoon 2 tournaments, Pokkén Tournament DX for Nintendo Switch will complete the triad of social, competitive games in action at Nintendo’s booth next week at the E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles. We don’t know much about the game other than a few screenshots and small trailer that Nintendo graced us with (above).

This isn’t the Pokemon experience that most of us wanted, but Pokken Tournament was a pretty sweet fighting game when it hit the Wii U. The funny thing is that I only ever bought two games for my Wii U, with Pokken Tournament being one (fantastic) and Star Fox Zero (meh) being the other.

You can check out the details for the live Pokken Tournament below:

Name: Pokkén Tournament DX Invitational
Date: Wednesday 14th June

Competitors: Eight YouTube and Twitch stars

Casters: D1 and VikkiKitty
