Thirty years ago Tetris came flying into the popular culture like a bat out of hell. Alexey Pjitnov took such a simple concept of lining up falling blocks and created a behemoth of a game. To this day, near everything with a screen has some version of Tetris on it. What’s even more impressive is that thirty years after the fact the game remains nearly unchanged from its original form.
Well, Tetris is back once again, but this time it’s running someplace where you wouldn’t picture it. Mark Kreger has implanted a fully functioning version of Tetris on a T-shirt. The shirt doesn’t feature a screen, instead opting for 128 LEDs powered by the Arduino Uno micro-controller and powered by four rechargeable AA batteries.
But, Kreger went one step further than a basic Tetris system, implementing multiple game levels and a scoring system that retains your information. If only he could figure out how to pump out the classic Tetris soundtrack, then we would really have something. You can check out the video of the T-shirt in action below.
