Peyton Reed (Yes Man, Bring It On) has been tapped by Marvel to direct the upcoming Ant-Man film for the studio. Reed is best known for his comedic films and has as of recently worked on the television show New Girl.
Could this be a sign that Marvel is looking for a more lighthearted film focusing more on the comedy aspect? Having Paul Rudd as the star would seem to lend credence to this. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Here is the announcement direct for Marvel:
When Marvel’s “Ant-Man” hits theaters July 17, 2015, director Peyton Reed will help shepherd the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cast led by Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with writer Adam McKay contributing to the film’s script.
