You know how everyone is kind of uncertain about Nic Pizzolatto’s casting for the second season of True Detective, with Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch? Well, I think we all feel the exact opposite about Noah Hawley and season two of Fargo.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that several awesome names have joined the cast, the most important of which is arguably Patrick Wilson (Insidious) as the young Lou Solverson, who was played by Keith Carradine in season one. This disproves my theory that the previously-announced Jeffrey Donovan would be playing Lou.
Also joining the cast is Nick Offerman, who I don’t have to tell you plays Ron Swanson, and probably inspired you to grow facial hair and drink whiskey (that is, if you weren’t any good at either of those to begin with. You fucking poser). Anyway, Offerman will play Karl Weathers, the town lawyer of Luverne, MN, a Vietnam vet and a drunk. Ted Danson (CSI) has joined as well, in the role of Hank Larsson, the sheriff of Rock County, MN.
EW‘s cast list and plot breakdown can be found here, and I’ll refrain from writing any more at the risk of just stealing their material outright. To be succinct as possible, I will say that the cast now includes Kieran Culkin (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), Jean Smart (Frasier), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), and several others.
So, yeah, this can’t happen soon enough.
