One of these men might direct Ant-Man

Ever since Edgar Wright dropped out of Ant-Man, the biggest question on everyone’s lips has been “The fuck, Marvel?” Followed by “Who will replace him?” We can’t answer the first one, but we can shed some light on the second, as a list of possible replacements has leaked to The Hollywood Reporter. They are:

Adam McKay

McKay directed Ant-Man star Paul Rudd in both Anchorman movies, so at least they know each other. Getting the guy behind Step Brothers and Talladega Nights to do a superhero movie would be an interesting move, but not an unprecedented one (keep in mind, the guys who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier cut their teeth on episodes of Community and Arrested Development).

Ruben Fleischer

Best known for Zombieland, Fleischer also did competent work on 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster Squad (which has its faults, but I can’t help liking almost any movie Josh Brolin is in). McKay seems a little too high-profile for this, and he’s busy as shit, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Fleischer is your man.

Rawson Marshall Thurber

Thurber directed Dodgeball and We’re the Millers. Now he’s on a list of contenders for Ant-Man. Industry analsysts are saying, “LOL wut?”
