Trust me, my uncle works for Nintendo.
Despite what idiots have been saying for the past 20 years, Nintendo’s not going to die. At leas, not anytime soon (they probably still have assloads of Wii/DS money). And as such, they are working on a successor to the Switch. Just, don’t expect them to drop a hard release date anytime soon; they say that it’ll probably release sometime before the year of our lord 2100.
The news of their roughly 80-year release window comes from a recent corporate management briefing, which featured a slide stating that the successor to the Switch hardware should come sometime in 20XX:
Which I’m pretty sure means that it’s now a race to see who’s first: Nintendo making a Switch successor, or Dr. Light making Mega Man.
This all comes just after the discontinuation of the 3DS, which had a pretty good run. And I’d imagine that, while the Switch may see a major hardware revision at some point in the future between now and its sequel, Nintendo’s probably going to let it ride. After all, the 3DS lasted a good 9 years.
