The latest Nintendo Switch Online update had us excited with the announced additions of Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee to its NES range of titles to play. Metroid is the big one that is a must-play game, but the other two titles are great in their own right.

But Nintendo decided to surprise fans with the addition of a game that they didn’t announce –Gradius! Okay, so the game is already on the service, but like The Legend of Zelda before it, this is the Special (SP) version of the game.

This lets you start the game at level 5 with everything already unlocked. Gradius is a beast of a game and most kids probably never even saw level 5. Now is the perfect time to go back and give the game another go.
