NewsON Brings Local News To Roku, iOS, & Android Devices

NewsON

Streaming is the future; that’s pretty much accepted at this point. But there is one hurdle that many can’t get past to finally give up traditional cable television -their local news. With the digital switch-over things have only gotten more difficult, as rabbit ears (remember those) no longer work to pick up stations. Sure, you could get a digital antenna, but fumbling around with different inputs and controllers is just a pain, and can be confusing for many.

NewsON looks to solve this issue by allowing streaming users to access their local news stations via their streaming device. Currently iOS, Android, and Roku devices are supported and make it easy to watch local news as you would with any other streaming platform. You can easily jump from Netflix or Hulu and watch your local news; all from a single device and single remote.

The NewsON service is currently backed financially by a ton of TV stations that know they are losing out on views by people that continue to cut the cord on traditional television. As of the time of this writing the service cover seventy-five percent of the market for the United States, with one-hundred and eighteen stations currently streaming on the service.
