New Shenmue 3 DLC Drops This Month

New DLC for Shenmue, a game you probably didn’t know already came out, is finally here. 2019 really was the year of beloved video game series being out and being forgotten within weeks. Did Shenmue 3 come out in 2018? See, this is how bad things are.

The upcoming ‘Battle Rally DLC’ will add a new event into the game for Ryo to take part in. The event, as you might expect from the name, is a competitive combat race against others. You’ll also engage in fisticuffs along the way because that’s how racing works.

Considering this is an open-world game you’d expect stuff like this to be included. Hell, it’s sort of the point of these games to explore and find neat things that aren’t part of the main story. It the reason I Spect 200+ hours in Skyrim without ever going to see the Greybeards, it’s why I maxed out Spider-Man as far as possible before being forced into a mission.

Fuck it! It’s only been two decades waiting for Shenmue III, so I can’t honestly expect a fully fleshed out experience. The DLC will cost you a mere $8 and does add some characters, but I suggest spending a little more and just pick up the Shenmue I & II remaster instead.
