2020: Turbo Championship Edition

Sony’s PlayStation brand has announced a slew of news this week. For one, There will be a new State of Play presentation set for Thursday the 25th, this week, at 2 p.m. Pacific, and will run for 30 minutes.

But one of the things that will almost certainly feature at that presentation is the fact that they are creating a new PS VR device for the PS5. More importantly, they’re applying all they learned from the previous generation of devices to this new one. You can imagine how much sleeker, lighter, and less cumbersome this new headset will be, and you wouldn’t be wrong to do so. They’re designing it with the ability to connect to your PS5 with a single cord.

Moreover, they’re designing a new controller for the device, with improved ergonomics. And that’s not to mention the addition of some of those nifty new features from the PS5’s DualSense controller (I imagine those triggers will be hella nice in VR).

Finally, Play At Home is returning this year. Last year’s Play At Home basically amounted to two free games in a single month (Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection). This year, however, they plan to go bigger. We’re living in unprecedented times, and that requires unprecedented ideas, so this time, the campaign will expand to four months. The campaign starts in March, where on March 1st, you’ll be able to download and keep Ratchet & Clank PS4 for a limited time; the window is from 8 pm PST March 1st to 2021 at 8pm PDT March 31st / April 1st at 4am BST / 5am CEST.

And Stating on the 25th of March, Funimation is kicking in extended access for new subscribers to Funimation or Wakanim in the countries they are available. This offer is only available to users that subscribe to Funimation/Wakanim during this period, which lasts for an unspecified amount of time.

And that’s only the beginning. More will be announced in the coming weeks. They’re promising some big stuff on the way, so it’s hard not to get excited.
