Valve finally announced a new entry into the legendary Half-Life series, a series that only spans two games a a few unfinished episodes. There aren’t many game with only two entries that have had such an impact on the entire gaming industry as a whole.
Unfortunately, this new game announcement isn’t Half-Life 3 and instead is Half-Life: Alyx, a VR game based in the Half-Life world. Valve says that this is going to be their “flagship” VR title and will officially be unveiled on November 20.
We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am Pacific Time.

Can’t wait to share it with all of you! pic.twitter.com/BupFCxSrTw
The last time we saw Alyx was just over twelve years ago when Half-Life 2 Episode 2 ended leaving fans on with a cliffhanger ending and the revelation of the lost Aperture Science ship which no-doubt holds all that sweet portal tech from the Portal series.
Looks like we have to wait until tomorrow to find out just what Half-Life: Alyx will hold in store, but fans, myself included, hope it will help fill in some gaps and maybe (god willing) lead into Half-Life 3 in some way. Oh, I know it won’t but a boy can dream.
Chances are this is going to be a prequel before Freeman was un-thawed by the G-Man and about Alyx running around doing VR type stuffs.
