Monday Night RAW Results & Recap 2/24

We start off the show in a bone chilling welcome to no other than Hulk Hogan! No matter what age this man is, he can really get the crowd going. Hogan starts off his promo by saying this is a turning point for his career. He says he is finally home (BURN!!! To TNA). He continues on promoting about the WWE network, along with mentions that he will be hosting the future; which will Wrestlemania 30.

It was a perfect choice, in allowing Hogan to run wild on Wrestlemania 30. But would he be also starting a storyline with someone similar to how The Rock did back in Wrestlemania 28 with John Cena? Hopefully is not a match (god no), but more of a mentorship with someone who he believes is the future (Bryan?).

Matches:

Alberto Del Rio vs Batista.

I’m not a big fan of rematches after it’s pay-per-view. But in the case of Batista, I’ll let it slide. I mean the match from last night was pretty bad, and Batista does need to redeemed himself if he going to be headlining Wrestlemania. As for the match, it was better then last night. Batista was looser and Alberto was still acting like the chicken heel that he is. The crowd was heavily in favor of Del Rio and was booing Batista throughout the whole match. While Batista sets up for the Batista Bomb, Randy Orton’s theme plays. And as he comes out, Del Rio rolls up Batista for the win.

Winner: Batista

After the match, Orton cuts a promo about how the crowd is not on Batista’s side. Orton continues on, by saying how Batista should probably regrets coming back. As the crowd goes crazy for Orton (that’s a first), Batista says he doesn’t care about what the crowd has to say; he simple sum up his promo with three simple words “DEAL WITH IT!”

Cesaro vs Big E

This match was another example of how good both Big E and Ceasro are good in the ring. After last night match with Swagger at EC, Big E goes above and beyond with Cesaro. Cesaro has always been a personal favorite of mines since he debut on WWE (also watched his Indy stuff). And I won’t be surprise if he becomes WWE champion by the end of the year or even become the next Money In the Bank winner (calling it!). During the match both Cesaro and Big E were trading shots from headlocks, unpercuts and a massive tilt-a-whirl slam. The highlight in the match was the crowd chanting “we the people”, not the mention that Cesaro is a Heel. The match ends quickly with Swagger coming in and locking a Patriot lock to Big E.

**Promo: John Cena & Wyatt Family**

As always Cena comes out with a massive pop from the crowd. Starts off his promo about the return of Hogan, then mention about how Wyatt screws him from his title shot to Mania. At first, I was confused about how he didn’t mention about how the Wyatts screw him over the first time in the Royal Rumble. I do hope that WWE writes that in within the coming weeks before Mania. Because at this point is for sure that were going to see Bray vs Cena at Mania. The Wyatt Family does show up to this promo, and once again Bray’s promo is gold. He tells Cena, he is the fallen hero, he not the hero that he thought he was (couldn’t agree more). From there they attack Cena. Cena tries to fight back but end up injuring himself throughout the process. The Wyatt Family leaves off the ring with Cena looking helpless. The Wyatt Family needs to continue this path, every week there looking stronger and better and it just shows how the future of wrestling is in good hands.

Christian vs Sheamus

A match we all saw coming. The match was good but we have seen it before. I couldn’t help but to think that WWE did a wrong decision on making Christain Heel. I’m not going to lie; I just enjoy Sheamus as a heel better. The match was good, better than I expected with Sheamus giving the good old Brogue Kick in mid-air! And winning it.

Winner: Sheamus

Daniel Bryan vs Kane **Match Of The Night**

I’m a big fan of both Daniel Bryan and Kane (mostly old school Kane) and hearing about this match earlier. I just knew it will be a must watch. And happily it was, wasn’t a five-star match but it was awesome watching Daniel do his thing along with Kane being the monster that he is. Here the key to know your watching a good match, is when you have no idea who going to win and both Kane and Bryan did their thing; Of course Bryan won. But is after the match that was more exciting, Bryan cuts a promo and calls out on Triple H and challenge him to a match on Wrestlmania, Will he accept? Hell yea he will. That dude will do anything to see his name in lights.

Emma vs. Summer Rae

It’s about damn time; they let both of these women wrestle. I’m sick and tired of all the dancing thats going around in the WWE today. Both of these women are great wrestlers and WWE is more focus on giving them character then really letting them wrestle.  Same thing goes with Aj Lee. It’s Wrestlemania season and your telling me Aj Lee doesn’t have a feud going around or cutting massive good promos? Come on WWE. For a business that focus in being family friendly, you really put ashamed how women stand out in your shows.  This match was way too short, there were some good moves from Summer, but Emma top it off with the Emma-lock. Hopefully both of these women can really start wrestling more and leave the dancing dull gimmick out the door. Though, for some reason I do see people dancing to Emma’s theme in the club.

Winner: Emma

The Usos vs. The New Age Outlaws

If there one thing I hate is a short match. And this was one of them. The problem was it was under two minutes. There really nothing to say about this match beside that The Usos won because The Outlaws were being dumb. Just give the titles to The Usos already before The Outlaws goes on my shit list.

Winner: Usos

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

After their match between their teams, Roman Reigns challenge Bray Wyatt for a one on one match. Before I get into the match, I have a feeling this will not be the end between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns. I would even be so bold to say that both of these guys might headline a Wrestlemania together someday. The Match was of course spot on, Bray had his hits and Roman did as well. Roman was selling his ass off for Bray making him looks stronger than he already is. And as soon Roman was getting momentum, the lights go out and come back on, and there we see the rest of the Wyatt family of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper at ringside.  All the sudden Seth Rollins comes out of nowhere and leaps out of the ring, taking out Rowan and Harper. Bray being smart as he is, tries to rolls Reigns up for a 2 count. The Match ends with Dean Ambrose finally running down to help out Rollins, while Reigns Superman punch Wyatt and Reigns knock Harper off the apron. For some reason Ambrose thought it was cool to rush to the ring and attack Bray for the disqualification.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

Closing:

Brock Lesnar comes out with Paul Heyman.  Heyman introduces Brock as the #1 contender. Which I say, why not the man has fought more times than The Rock by Now! Heyman continue on by stating that Lesnar has always conquered everything that was place before him. From being the youngest WWE Champaion, to even taking over the MMA world in UFC. He also mentions about the open contract that Stephanie and Triple H have given to Brock to have a match to who ever he please. But the problem is he won’t have a title match. Now that I think about it Brock should become champ around SummerSlam, and beat Batista (just a prediction, but a damn good one). With a simple “no thank you” to the contract, Heyman demands they give Brock history to conquer once again.

** Then the lights go out, the bells go off and The Undertaker entrance plays **

If there was a moment to mark out, this was the freaking moment! Undertaker comes out looking younger than he did last year, it might be because he rocking his old Ministry of darkness look (Yay! Attitude era Reference!). Taker walks in to ring and comes face to face with Lesnar as the crowd pops.

Taker looks up at the WrestleMania sign; Lesnar signs the contract and shovel it the pen at Taker (Heyman laughing in the background was priceless). Taker wasn’t going to take that; he slams down on Lesnar’s arm and chokeslams him through the table.  Me at home along with the crowd were both chanting “holy shit” not only because of the chokeslam but for the fact the match is official; Taker Vs Brock for WrestleMania 30.

What were your best moments last night? Are you looking forward for Taker Vs Brock? How do you feel about the state of the Diva division? Will Hogan ever drop a Leg Drop again? Let me know in the comments down below.
