Mighty No. 9 browser games releases on time…

Mighty No. 9

Mighty No. 9 has been pushed back into 2016, showing us that just because people on Kickstarter wheelbarrow you piles of money, you are still obligated to push release dates back like any other publisher. Look, I’m excited about Mighty No. 9 for a lot of reason, but I’ve already played the game at four different events this year alone. When Capcom can push out a new Mega Man package before you can get Mighty No. 9 out the door, people will of course get a slight bit pissed.

Still, one Might No. 9 project did manage to get out of the starting gate on time. The problem is that little side game (weekend project?) isn’t very good. In fact, it’s kind of lame when even being judged as a browser game. I’m no game developer –at least not for the last few years– but a game that only requires you to jump in place to win isn’t going to set the world on fire.

Mighty No. 9 delayed

The Mighty No. 9 browser game lets you take on the games robot masters –or whatever the game is calling them– in mini boss fights. You just stand in place and press jump to avoid incoming attacks; that’s it. It’s so easy and goes by so quick that I beat the first boss without jumping and before I even knew what the hell was going on.

Still, you can try the game out for yourself here (http://play.neos-easygames.com/game/?gameId=ne-mightyno9-c001) and see if you can squeeze 5 minutes of fun out of it. If this little throwaway game came out alongside the full game, or around the same time as a fun little marketing thing I’d be more than happy with it, instead with Mighty No. 9 pushed back into 2016, it just feels like a cheap way to appease fans.
