I think I’d have watched Dora the Explorer if it featured Michael Bay-grade explosions.
A live-action adaptation of Dora the Explorer is being produced. And, for some reason, Michael Bay – – purveyor of EXPLOSIONS – – is producing it. Specifically, alongside Andrew Form and Brad Fuller from his production company, Platinum Dunes.
The film will be written by Nick Stoller (The Muppets, Neighbors). As expected, the it will stray from its source material, featuring a teenage Dora moving to the city to live with her cousin Diego. And maybe still go on adventures. Little else is actually known right now. That said, College Humor taught us that Dora + EXPLOSIONS is pretty badass. So who knows?
Paramount will distribute the film. Dora the Explorer is tentatively expected to release sometime in 2019.
