Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped.
That’s the bad news, but the good news is that Nintendo is starting the development process over again so the game is still going to happen.
This will, of course, push back the release of the game, but Nintendo isn’t messing around. Development will now be handed off to Retro Studios.
That name should get fans excited as Retro Studios are the team behind the Metroid Prime series. That legendary trilogy brought Metroid back to it, well, prime.
Nintendo are a smart company when it comes to development. They know what they can and can’t do, and an FPS isn’t something in their wheelhouse.
