Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil hit a rough patch this last weekend, as showrunner Drew Goddard departed to focus on Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off The Sinister Six. He was replaced by Spartacus‘ Steven S. DeKnight. That kind of shakeup is never a good sign, but there’s some good news now, as Netflix has cast Daredevil‘s titular crime-fighter. The new Matt Murdock is Charlie Cox, late of Boardwalk Empire (also seen in Stardust).
Daredevil is one of four Marvel properties heading to Netflix; soon he’ll be joined by Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, and the four of them will drive around in a van solving mysteries. Wait, no, they’ll team up and star in The Defenders.
Latino Review reported this news first, so I might as well give them the credit. Good job, guys, you finally got one right!
