Iwan Rheon is slowly getting more typecast
Marvel’s Inhumans has been through a patchy development cycle. It’s gone through a back and forth on whether or not it will happen, as well as whether it would be on ABC or Netflix if it were to happen. Well, it’s happening, and it’s going to be on ABC.
The interesting thing here is that they’re adapting the book. Which is weird because, due to the whole thing between Marvel and Fox, Inhumans were set up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe similar to ersatz Mutants. But they’re going full steam ahead with adapting the original characters; hopefully, how they fit together with what’s been shown on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be explained eventually.
The buzz about the trailer, however… hasn’t been great, to say the least. I’m willing to bet that, much like SHIELD, it’ll eventually hit its stride (hopefully avoiding the mess that was S.H.I.E.L.D.’s third season, though). I mean, most people hated Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until they hit the Captain America: The Winter Soldier tie in. But it has some hearts to win over. And it’s got Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) playing a villain.
Marvel’s Inhumans air its premiere in theaters on September 1. The show proper will air on ABC September 29.
