Starts with Ashe’s origins.
Marvel has teamed up with Riot games to produce comics based on Riot’s popular MOBA, League of Legends. And the line starts with Ashe: Warmother; an origin story for one of the game’s many popular characters.
Raised in the savage wilds of the north, Ashe is an Iceborn, a warrior gifted with a magical connection to her frozen homeland—and burdened by her mother’s fanatical expectations. When they set out on a dangerous quest for the truth behind an ancient myth, bonds are broken, secrets come to light, and Runeterra is forever changed. Will young Ashe become the leader her people need? Or is destiny merely an empty dream?
Riot’s Odin Austin Shafer is writing the series, with art from Heavy Vinyl’s Nina Vakueva. While the series will be available monthly by both digital distribution as well as physical, it’s still a ways off. It’ll hit digital first, on December 19th of this year. For physical, though, you’ll be waiting until May 2019. Well, that’ll give you some time to get some League of Legends games in, right?
