Mario Kart Tour will cost you
Mario Kart Tour is out today and while it’s a much slower karting experience and is free-to-play Nintendo still has ways to take your money.
Microtransactions include the ability to buy stamina and other goodies like in most F2P games. But Mario Kart Tour is a little different in that it also offers a monthly subscription.
You can snag a Gold Pass for only $5 a month! That’s right, you can pay to get all sorts of perks for what it almost costs for a streaming subscription. Pay $5 a month for all the Mario Kart Tour action you can get.
Sure, you can spend the same on 300 games through Google Play Pass or even drop it on Apple Arcade. But who needs hundreds of games when you can play Mario Kart Tour.
What’s interesting, aside from the ridiculous price, is that Nintendo Switch Online is cheaper per month and you still get dozens of NES and SNES games. Hell, you also get the original Mario Kart through it.
At least Nintendo is letting people test drive the Gold Pass for two weeks before they start charging you.
