Nintendo is constantly trying new things as of late, and one of their latest ventures is bringing Mario back to television -sort of. Nintendo is teaming up with Disney to bring together their Mario Kart franchise with YouTube people and fans.

In a new show called “Clash of Karts: Mario Kart 8,” eight of America’s best young gamers get the opportunity to team up with the hottest YouTube personalities like Strawburry 17, Andre (Black Nerd Comedy), AtomicMari and SethBling to compete in a one-hour multi-round Mario Kart 8 competition.

It seems like a smart move as a show concept, but I can;t help but think that this is Nintendo testing the TV waters about the possibility of putting together some sort of series. If they did, Disney XD would be a smart choice.

Tune in Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. PT/ET to Disney XD to see who comes out on top.
