Mario Kart 8

The Mario Kart world is about to get a lot more famous Nintendo faces. Up until now the Mario Kart series has been populated with characters from the various Mario franchises, but with the addition of two more DLC packs, Nintendo is about to open up their racer to some outside influence.

With the two additional content packages, Mario Kart 8 racers will be able to some familar faces to the mix. Players will now be able to race as Link from The Legend of Zelda as well as The Villager and Isabelle from another Nintendo franchise, Animal Crossing.

Not only will we get new racers from other franchises, but players can expect to see a few additional karts as well. Each pack will contain additional karts including the fast and furious Blue Falcon from the F-Zero franchise.

The first DLC content pack will drop in November and features Link, additional costumes, 4 all new vehicles, and a total of eight new tracks to race on. The second pack will follow in May of next year adding Animal Crossing characters, karts, and eight more tracks to test your skills on.

Nintendo seems to be jumping head first into the world of DLC and offering some impressive add-ons. Each pack is expected to be priced at $9.99.
