Macy’s Credit Card Processors Died Mid-Black Friday

~In the arms of an angel~

Black Friday may well be one of the single worst times for a store to be unable to handle credit cards. And precisely that managed to happen to Macy’s this Black Friday.

Macy’s hasn’t had the greatest time of it this year, so it really needed things to go off without a hitch. Having their credit card processors go down was probably not at the top of their list of things they’d want. Luckily, they managed to resolve the issue, eventually:

We have fully resolved today’s system issues. We highly value our customers and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience today’s system slowdown may have caused during their shopping experience. The delays we experienced this afternoon were due to a capacity-related issue that caused some transactions to take longer to process. We do not anticipate any additional delays.

Oh, and remember: there’s only 31 shopping days left until Christmas.
