A live-action/animation hybrid Tom and Jerry film is in the works over at Warner Bros. And they’re currently in talks to have Tim Story (Fantastic Four [2005], Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Ride Along) direct.

According to Variety, the film will start shooting in 2019. The film seems to be using the live action footage with animated characters method akin to films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Warner Bros. is also going to lengths to make sure the Live action and animation teams work well together. Finally Tom and Jerry won’t talk, and will operate through physical comedy. As it should be.

As to why I’d guess it’s happening, though, well…
