Now you, too, can have the high ground.
Augmented Reality has taken something of a backseat to Virtual Reality’s resurgence, recent of late. But Lenovo’s trying to change that with their Mirage. And said Mirage only currently has one game in development: Star Wars Jedi Challenges.
The game features three modes to go with that Lightsaber. The first is obvious; a duel mode that lets you face off against several Sith Lords in Lightsaber combat (protip: go for the legs on Darth Vader and Darth Maul). The second is a form of Real Time Strategy game, which lets you point and choose options using the Lightsaber as a controller. The third, well… the third is Dejarik.
The Lightsaber seems to be pretty well constructed, and comes with a rechargeable battery. The Beacon unit (that pink thing) uses 2 AA batteries, and needs to be placed properly for each game. The headset is, from all accounts, fairly light and unobstructive. All you’d need is an Android/iOS smartphone with the proper specs, and you’re good to go.
The whole thing will be sold as a set. The Star Wars: Jedi Challenges pack will go up for pre-order on September first on Best Buy and Lenovo’s site for $199. The set will launch proper sometime in November.
