The idea behind LEGO Dimensions isn’t anything new, but the properties it has the ability to pull from make it one of the most interesting, collect ’em all style games around. While things like Skylanders created a singular world, and tried to spin-off all sorts of new monsters, (see: creatures) LEGO Dimensions is pulling entire world that already have huge install bases.
The game is bringing in some big guns when it launches soon with names like Portal 2 and Doctor Who being the most ‘geeky’ of the bunch. But that’s not all, as we will also be seeing Jurassic World, Back to the Future, and The Simpsons all of which will no doubt bring its own unique audience. While these figures will no doubt be lovely on their own, I’m really excited about seeing their worlds brought to life in-game.
