Legends of the Hidden Temple Getting CW Reboot Aimed At Adults

I’m for it if the Shrine of the Silver Money is still impossible to assemble even if you got it right.

it seems the classic Nickelodeon game show Legends of the Hidden Temple is getting a reboot over at The CW.That said, it won’t be aimed at kids; rather, adults will be the ones running the courses and answering questions. So I guess that’s good news if you never got to take a shot at getting The Ivory Elephant of Scheherazade (or rather, whatever the prizes actually were that week.)

If you’re not familiar with Legends of the Hidden Temple, Kevin Perjurer of Defunctland gave it a comprehensive rundown:

Notably, the new show is said to be keeping all of the rules and teams the same, though the show will be moved outside the studio to a man-made jungle with scaled up physical challenges to meet the capabilities of adults, and somewhat better prizes to match (though I’d imagine there’s gotta be somebody, who’d be happy to get a pallet of tuna). Otherwise, it will follow the same format of the original show, complete with temple run at the end.

The original show ran for 3 seasons, 120 episodes with a couple of specials. In 2016 it even got a made-for-TV movie, Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie.

There was also an attempt to reboot it on Quibi, but we all know how that went…

Aside from all that, casting is open over at LegendsCasting.com, though there’s not set filming or air dates. The site states that they’re looking for “teams of two who are able to be in the Los Angeles area during the month of July, who work well together and want to prove they have what it takes.” The call also states that “Legends super-fans are a plus!”
