Legendary Entertainment has announced that it has partnered with The Pokémon Company to release a Detective Pikachu film. Slated for a 2017 release, the announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent Pokémon Go craze. The film will be live action, presumably with CG Pokémon. Toho will handle the Japanese distribution of the film. No word on if they’re planning to get Danny DeVito to voice the titular electric rodent, but I think we’ll all be disappointed if they don’t at least try.
