The following images showed up on Reddit Wednesday morning and seem to give us our first look at the upcoming Nintendo NX console, or at least one portion of it. The images are incredibly clear, unlike the normal leaked photos we get that seem to be taken with a disposable camera from the 80s after its been run through the wash.
Rumors are that the Nintendo NX will be a hybrid system, so what we see is the possible controller/portable version of the console. Everything does seem to match the patents of the NX that were dug up, but sources can’t confirm that these are in fact real.
If these images are real, then it shows how much Nintendo is risking on their new console. Since the original Wii, the company has been thinking outside the box. While this worked for the Wii like gangbusters, the Wii U didn’t even come close to matching that success.
The original Reddit poster claims that the what is shown is the game controller for the upcoming console, but they didn’t mention if this was in fact the portable, or it it was some sort of console specific controller. Whether these images are legitimate –they do seem to be– the controller does look uncomfortable.
