Hey, it won the awards it most deserved, you can’t deny.
Cuphead‘s been on fire since release. And that pushed it to win two awards at the VGA’s; Best Debut Indie Game and Best Art Direction. And considering Studio MDHR is run by Canadians, it’s only fitting that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave them a shout-out on Twitter.
Big night for the Canadians behind @StudioMDHR at @thegameawards last night – congratulations on taking home Best Debut Indie Game and Best Art Direction for Cuphead!

Seriously, Studio MDHR deserves all the accolades. The game just looks that good. It’s no surprise they won Best Art Direction when they spent that much time making Cuphead look the way it does. And if you haven’t played it yet (coughcoughlikemecoughcough) you should probably try to scrounge up the money to do so, somehow.
As for the Prime Minister’s Tweet? Well it’s no surprise that Canada’s been trying to build up their part of the game industry. And, Cuphead is obviously a stellar title that makes for a good milestone in that regard.
