It already looks awesome
Jackie Chan is one of those actors you can’t help but love. Even when he’s in a movie that isn’t necessarily considered great, you know he’s giving it 120%. Mostly from the fact that he does his own stunts (though even he has admitted that it’s gotten harder for him to do – he’s taken a lot of physical punishment over the years for his craft). The Foreigner, however, is something of a return for him in markets outside China; it’s a straight up action thriller that leans hard towards drama.
The story concerns Quan, who hauls out his special forces training after his only remaining family – his teenage daughter – is killed in an IRA bombing. In his search for those responsible, he crosses paths with a British government official (Pierce Brosnan) whose IRA past leads Quan to believe he knows the names of the bombers.
The film brings Brosnan and director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Edge of Darkness, Goldeneye) together again. You can check out the trailer below, if for some reason you’re still not sold on it. The Foreigner is slated to release October 13, 2017.
