Interactive Terminator Genisys Game To Run Before Movie

Terminator Genisys

Do you get to the movie theater early, and not to see those really bad random previews about television shows nobody sees? Well if you make your way to certain showings to Terminator Genisys you’ll be able to take part in a connected mobile game against your fellow moviegoers. The game, based on the film and created by Glu, will be the first in-theater interactive gaming experience. All patrons will have to do is sign into the local WiFi network provided in the theater.

Once logged in you’ll be tossed into one of four teams and get your chance to blast cyborgs that appear on the movie screen. The game will go by pretty quick (3 minutes) and members of the winning team will earn themselves a poster for the film. This is the sort of connected game that I can get behind, especially when you have a group of friends with you in the theater. Unfortunately this won’t be rolling out in all theaters, but if things go well we can expect to see more of these sort of interactive theater games in the future.

Theaters taking part:

  • New York (AMC Lincoln Square IMAX 13)
  • Los Angeles (AMC Universal CityWalk 19 with IMAX)
  • San Francisco (AMC Metreon IMAX 16)
  • Boston (AMC Boston Commons IMAX 19)
  • Dallas (AMC Northpark IMAX 15)
