House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn is Coming to Arcades (in Japan)

House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn

The House- The House- The House that no one’s cared about for several games.

We all have some fond memories of arcades. And, possibly short of Time Crisis, light gun games didn’t get much better than House of the Dead. And thanks to the fact that, unlike in the U.S., Japan still has an arcade scene, there’s going to be a new game in the series: House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.

House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn promises players “never before experienced horror“. The game is running on Unreal Engine 4, and is built into a theater-style cabinet. And that cabinet is packed full of all that good stuff; air cannons, moving seats, and even motion sensors to let it know when there’s someone passing by so that it can light up and attract players. And thanks to UE4, House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn is going to have an ocean of zombies for you to mow down.

House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn is getting a trial run in Japan. The preliminary testing will have cabinets placed in Sega Akihabara Building 3 in Tokyo, Japan. As for the rest of us, well, we’ll just have to suffer, like G did?

~Don’t come, don’t come~

*Author’s note: In case you can’t tell, I really liked House of the Dead 2
