Back in July, we told you that Dwayne Johnson would be playing Shazam, because he hasn’t shut up about playing Shazam. But it turns out that that’s incorrect, and the People’s Champ took to Twitter to reveal his actual role:

“Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.” My honor to become #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics

The tweet was accompanied by this picture:

Variety reports that Black Adam will appear in the Shazam! film, which is currently being written by Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Slayer, Shrek Forever After). I’m not really familiar with Black Adam or Shazam, but it’s nice to see Johnson so enthusiastic about taking the role.
