Henry Cavill (Politely) Explains The Difference Between Warcraft And Warhammer To Graham Norton

100% sure Henry Cavill thins his paints.

Henry Cavill is making the rounds to promote the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher series, in which he plays Geralt of Rivia. And naturally, this led to an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. For those not familiar, The Graham Norton Show is a lot like The Late Late Show with James Corden (because he kinda ripped off TGNS); except Graham Norton is actually funny, and his show doesn’t feature James Corden. In case you can’t tell, I dearly miss Craig Ferguson.

I have to say that I’m proud of the L.A. drivers, here, because I honestly can’t say for certain that I wouldn’t have floored it and ran the red light, damage to my car be damned.

It’s typical fare for Norton to find something to bring up and rib the various celebrities that rotate through his show to bring things down to earth. Norton found out that, aside from the PC gaming, Cavill also paints Warhammer miniatures. Unfortunately, he somewhat confused Warhammer with World of Warcraft, but Cavill set things straight in the absolute nicest way possible, as shown in the clip below:

NORTON: But you paint, is it war… World of Warcraft?
CAVILL: Uh, Warhammer.
NORTON: Warhammer, I’m a fool.
*audience laughs*
CAVILL: It’s Warhammer, Graham.

Cavill then goes on to explain that there are two parts to the hobby; the painting, and then the game played with the miniatures. Norton then asks him if he invites others over to play with his “toys”. Which in turn causes Tom Holland, who was also on the show that night, to pipe up and ask if he could come over and play, to which Cavill says he can. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Henry Cavill is far from the first celebrity to spend his hobby time painting miniatures. Hell, you can go at least as far back as Peter Cushing, who aside from enjoying an occasional theater visit with Christopher Lee to watch Looney Tunes shorts, also, in fact, painted (classic) wargame miniatures as a hobby.
