Why are you so averse to going out on a high note?
Gotham is soon to enter its fifth and final season. And you can’t have a final season without pulling out the stops. And so, Gotham is going to take on one of Batman’s most infamous rogues: Bane.
And, as is customary now, they’ve revealed the actor (Shane West, a fine choice), as well as the costume. Per Entertainment Weekly:
Just… why is this so hard? He looks like a Mortal Kombat character that walked into a Borg cube and said, “just fuck my shit up, fam.” Why does he have circuitry diagrams on his pants legs? He looks like a cybernetic aviator from the neck down.
I mean, it’s simple. You get a wrestle man, you give him a mask with tubes sticking into it. It can either be a respirator or a crazy luchador mask, it doesn’t matter. Bam! You’re done. Not hard. So why does this keep happening?
Regardless, this version of Bane is “introduced as Eduardo Dorrance, a former Army friend of Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie), who is gradually transformed into the supervillain.”
Oh well. At least this isn’t the “Fuck Batman” show.
Gotham plays out its final season sometime next year.
