Google Launches Android Game/App Subscription Service

$1.99 a month feels almost like a steal

Google isn’t one to let Apple have all the fun. Today the company has announced it’s very own subscription service with Google Play Pass.

The service will only cost you $1.99 for the first year with new games and apps being added monthly. At the time of this writing, they have 350 games available to play.

Sure, not all of these games are winners as the Google Play Store is full of junk, but there are some winners here. Some of the bigger titles include:

  • Bridge Constructor Portal
  • Chameleon Run
  • Evoland
  • Limbo
  • Lumino City
  • Monument Valley 2
  • Old Man’s Journey
  • Reigns: Game of Thrones
  • Sago Mini Pet Cafe
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Stardew Valley
  • Suzy Cube
  • Terraria
  • The Bug Butcher
  • Thomas and Friends: Race On
  • Titan Quest
  • Toca Nature
  • Wayward Souls

If you think $1.99 is too good to be true, well, it is. It’s a limited-time offer for the first year before the service jumps to $4.99 per month.

This is a great way to entice players as two-bicks a month is something most everyone can afford. If Google continues to support and release quality games on the service it could keep people playing after that first year.
