GOG Adds Visual Novels in Wake of Steam Crackdown on Softcore games

GOG

Enjoy your waifu crap through GOG.

Well, you might know about Steam cracking down on all of the Visual Novels and, well, pretty much anything with sexual content in it. And even though threatening immediate removal isn’t on the table anymore, GOG is capitalizing on Steams move. Because they’re adding an entire section of their main page dedicated to your dumbass weaaboo jackoff routine visual novels with sexual content, even describing them as hot.

Then again, that might not be too much of a surprise when you realize that GOG is a subsidiary of CD Projekt.

MangaGamer, a visual novel publisher, explains that the move to GOG wasn’t just spurred by the recent drama with Steam. There had long been doubts about Steam as a long term platform for their contend. Such that the GOG move for their games had already been in the works. Their PR director, John Pickett, is quoted on the blog:

Steam has now proven that it’s growing unreliable for small and independent developers, so we are very grateful to have the next biggest retailer in the PC market welcoming visual novels with open arms and an eye for quality. In the long run we hope to transition our full Steam catalog over to GOG, and we hope other developers will consider reaching out to them too. We want fans everywhere to always have a means of enjoy these great titles.

Sekai Project releases have also popped up on GOG:

While Sekai Project has a small selection of their games on the platform now, it’s sure to grow. And, as a bonus, their game Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius, is currently free. And the library for both publishers is sure to expand soon.
