Gaming Subscription Service Utomik First To Offer Day One Releases

Utomik, the unlimited play gaming subscription service for PC, is the first to offer day one releases on its service. Together with publishing partner Plug In Digital, the first game released on Utomik at the same time as everywhere else is Yono and the Celestial Elephants.

We tried out the Utomik some months back when it was just getting started and thought it was a pretty interesting service. The games worked great thanks to the launcher downloading most of the files onto you PC before launching. This really helped Utomik over cloud-based services that require a really great internet connection to handle bigger games. The service had a plethora of casual games, but right around he time our trial ended they were adding some major games for AAA publishers.

Now Utomik expanding by shifting the way players consume games. Their highly-curated library of titles offers a wide variety of genres, focused on discovering the unexpected. And that’s not a PR statement as we found a ton of indie games that we’d never know about through the service. Sure, a lot of them weren’t great, but there were quite a few hidden gems in there. Adding Day One releases is a major step towards the future of subscription gaming services and Utomik wants to be the first to throw their hat into that ring.

“Just like Netflix, Amazon and Spotify did before us in their respective fields, we aim to disrupt the game industry with Day One releases. A wise man once said: ‘From a small seed a mighty tree may grow’” – Doki Tops, CEO Utomik

The service brings users a weekly growing library of hand-picked games starting at only $5.99.
