In a surprise to absolutely nobody, GameStop will be closing another 300 stores this year. And considering the fact that they closed 321 in 2019, that’s probably not something good for the company.
In 2020, we will continue our work to de-densify our global store fleet and anticipate store closures to be equal to or more than 320 net closures we saw in fiscal 2019 on a global basis.

Though, let’s be honest; you probably saw that coming after their PR disasters last week. I mean, Jesus, how do you fail to read the room that hard? I swear, by the time Reggie gets in, it’ll be whittled down to a couple of kiosks selling Funko POP!s and a store filled with 200 used copies of the latest Madden.
Sure, they eventually shut down their stores “of their own volition”. But not before Pennsylvania yanked their business license. They really needed that DOOM/Animal Crossing money super bad.
