Did you say multilasers?
Hey guys, remember Stargate Command? You know, the Stargate only streaming service that called it quits and has since put all some of its content on their YouTube channel because that was ultimately cheaper than running an incredibly specific streaming service for one franchise regardless of how many fans that franchise has? Well, Games Workshop sure doesn’t. Or maybe they just think that people that spend ridiculous amounts of money chasing the tiny plastic model dragon have infinite amounts of money to burn. Wonder where they got that idea?
Anyway, Games Workshop is launching a streaming service dedicated to Warhammer, specifically Warhammer 40000, named Warhammer+. And that’ll come with 11 shows, all animated; some in 2D, some in 3D, all in different art styles.
The shows are as follows:
- Altar of Wrath
- Angels of Death
- Astartes II
- Blacktalon
- Broken Lance
- The Exodite
- Hammer and Bolter
- High Lords
- Interrogator
- Iron Within
- Pariah Nexus
Personally, I don’t know why they didn’t run the sizzle reel in the 4-and-a-half-minute long What’s Coming video. But, you know, it’s separate.
On the other hand, you can’t really predict the outcome of something like this. There are depths to which some players will go to stand up for a franchise they love. That said, increasingly granular streaming services are becoming a harder sell as time goes on. Even fans might have to say to themselves “okay, how many of these am I already subscribed to?” This shit’s already turned into a cable-television-like nightmare.
There is no announced price for the service, nor are there announced launch dates for the service or any of its shows.
