‘Games From Denmark’ Steam sale features Hitman, Figment, Inside and more

Elegant Scandivanian engineering at a low, low price!

The Hitman series, as well as critically acclaimed indies LimboInside and Figment, are among dozens of elegant feats of Scandinavian engineering on offer – as this week’s Midweek Madness sale on Steam heads to Denmark!

From the land that gave us The Little Mermaid, Lego, and the dulcet tones of ’90s pop outfit Aqua, comes an array of special games for an extra special price. Take a look at the trailer (below), and see below for a list of some of the highlights of the Games From Denmark sale!

From a country that has consistently ranked among the highest on the planet in the UN World Happiness Report, it’s no surprise that all the games on offer here are bundles of joy – from the famously colourful world of Limbo, to Figment‘s light and breezy topics such as mental illness and potentially fatal car accidents. (Did we mention the Danes are known for their sense of irony?)

Of course, if there’s one thing the Scandinavians are definitely famous for, it’s understated quality – which is why several of the games on offer are multi-award-winners… not that you’ll see their developers bragging about it!

Klaus Pedersen (CEO of Figment developer Bedtime Digital Games), who curated the Games From Denmark sale, said: “Over the past few years the Danish games scene has started to flourish, with a really high concentration of quality titles from Denmark releasing on Steam. It’s great to team up in a joint effort between the nation’s developers, to showcase and highlight the country’s talent.”

This month the Danish Government asked Unesco to officially list hygge, its recipe for perfect harmony and happiness, as a concept of ‘intangible cultural heritage’ – so what better time to get a taste of that culture through the power of games?
