Game Insight today announced that their mobile first-person shooter, Guns of Boom, has surpassed 10 million players. The game has also seen over 100,000 videos shared on YouTube. These milestones come only weeks after the game’s launch
“Guns of Boom has exceeded all of our expectations and shows no signs of slowing down,” said Anatoly Ropotov, Game Insight CEO. “The game has clearly unlocked pent up demand for a quality mobile shooter. And with the rate at which people are sharing their gameplay, the game has really gone viral.”
The mobile FPS is a genre that just can’t work on a mobile device, but this is coming from someone who still thinks it doesn’t work on consoles. Well, at least not without aim assist. You can probably tell I’ve been playing on a PC since the early DOS days. Still, 10 millions players is saying something for any game, let alone a mobile FPS.
This virality is driven by Guns of Boom’s ‘Control Points’ game mode which enables eSports-style clan-based competition. New game modes, weapons, community features and content will be regularly released over the coming months.
This is consistent with Game Insight’s commitment to players to continually introduce exceptional gameplay experiences for a wide range of audiences, from casual to hardcore.
