Love is in the air as MTV’s Friendzone returns to play cupid in all-new episodes starting on Monday, June 2nd at 6:00PM ET/PT. Just in time for summer love, this season features stories of love-sick best friends taking even bigger leaps of faith in hopes of turning the tide on their friendships when they express their true romantic desires. This season, FriendZone takes on the South as we document stories in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. Viewers will get an inside look at the “it’s complicated” drama that comes with situations ranging from: two girlfriends giving their unsuspecting shared ‘guy friend’ an ultimatum to choose between them, a gay male friend dating his best female friend after out after having only previously dated guys; and the dramatic double date scenarios that feature double the awkwardness. By confessing their true feelings, these individuals are in danger of jeopardizing their friendships but believe that the possibility of true love is worth the risk. Each story follows two pairs of best friends as the dater in each scenario attempts to reveal their true feelings for their BFF. In order to pull this off without a hitch each hopeless romantic will ask their best friend to be their wingman for an upcoming blind date. The friend thinks that they are helping plan the perfect rendezvous, not knowing that they are actually setting themselves up for a date to remember. Once the pair arrives at the location, the dater will confess his or her secret feelings to their unsuspecting best friend and reveal that the blind date is really for the two of them. Stakes run high as the best friend makes the decision to take the leap of love’s faith or break the bad news that they’re better off as friends. Whether things go well or go poorly, it’s going to be tense for all involved
FriendZone is produced by 495 Productions with Founder and President SallyAnn Salsano serving as Executive Producer along with Joel Zimmer of 495 Productions. James DeSimas serves as the development executive for MTV and Jennifer Russakoff is the executive in charge of production for MTV.
