Perth, April, 2014 — Freedom Fall, the delightfully devilish downward platformer, has been chosen as one of the games to help launch Amazon’s move into Home Entertainment with its new Amazon Fire TV.
This Australian game was selected as one of the 134 games to launch the gaming aspect of the device.
The new Fire TV version of Freedom Fall has been fully optimised for the system’s new game controller, runs at full HD, includes leaderboards and adds new levels.
Freedom Fall has been praised for its mix of action, humour and twisted storytelling. It challenges players to escape a deadly tower filled with everything from spikes and flames to a mechanical shark, to determine the guilt or innocence of our would-be hero, all the while trying to contend with one very warped Princess.
Freedom Fall designer, writer and artist Lisa Rye says, “Bringing Freedom Fall to the Amazon Fire as a launch title has been a wonderful opportunity – we were thrilled to see the game running on a big TV with full HD graphics. Now you can be taunted by the princess in the comfort of your living room!”
Fire TV was announced yesterday and represents Amazon’s first move into home entertainment. The compact device is designed to be the centre of your lounge room media system allowing you to stream TV straight from Amazon, Netflix and Hulu as well as boasting a quad core processor, 2GB of memory and a dedicated graphics chip for HD microconsole gaming.
Freedom Fall is available now on Amazon Fire TV for $US6.95. Platform optimised versions of the game can also be found on Steam, iOS, Android and Ouya.
Freedom Fall was developed in Perth, Australia, and won the 2013 West Australian Screen Award for Best Videogame, and reached the final round of the 2013 Australian Game Developer Awards in two categories: Best Game and Design.
