Llama drama.
Over the weekend, a Fortnite Live event held in the UK has generated some buzz. And not the good kind, because it was horrible.
Held in Norwich, the event was not official; Epic Games had nothing to do with it. Instead, the event was put on by a company called Exciting Events (a misnomer, as you’ll see). For somewhere between £12 and £20, you an 2,799 other guests would be able to avail yourselves of their meager offerings of fun.
Well, after a long wait in line. See, there were only 4 go karts. And the archery range accommodated the exact same number of attendees. There was also a single rock climbing wall, not to mention a cave so underwhelming, it makes the worst haunted house you’ve seen look like a masterpiece. Not to mention the single VR station, as well as several regular stations that were set up to play a free-to-play game at an event that cost more to get into than said game.
Needless to say, many that paid to go to the event with their children were less than thrilled. And they made that known on the event’s Facebook page. Exciting Events is, however, apparently offering refunds to those that want them.
Admittedly, I’m going to be super disappointed if this doesn’t at least get a throwaway joke from Stuart Ashen. After all, he lives in Norwich, and makes a living off of talking about disappointing things.
