He mad.
A few weeks back, a couple of YouTubers really dug deep into the mess that was the Save The Kids cryptocurrency fiasco. The publicity of this essentially led to several members of FaZe Clan getting punished. But one, FaZe Kay (Frazier “Kay” Khattri) got kicked from the group for his involvement.
And now, Kay is threatening legal action against Coffeezila, one of the YouTubers which published videos on the whole affair. Specifically, he had his lawyers end the YouTuber a Cease and Desist order threatening legal action if he didn’t take the videos down.
Oh, and let’s not forget the video spoken of near the beginning of the one above, going over more of the misconduct, courtesy of both SomeOrdinaryGamers and Coffeezilla:
Needless to say, I don’t think doing this will turn out terribly well for Kay. If this shit actually went to trial, discovery is probably not going to be kind to the former FaZe member. As Mutahar (SomeOrdinaryGamers) points out in the comments section of the topmost video.
Notably, Coffeezilla has stated that he’s talked to FaZe Banks about this, and it’s 100% Kay’s doing; the group has no involvement in this, and haven’t spoken with Kay since he was kicked out. Kay also seems to be threatening legal action against Mutahar, per the C&D letter.
Admittedly, the message Coffeezilla sent asking for some dialog with Kay back when does sound mildly threatening:
Kay, I’m serious man. You’ve gotta start talking. We’ve found so much more on you and if you keep hiding behind these 2 min statements, it’s never gonna work. Not only that, we want to take down [Sam] Pepper but you staying silent isn’t helping.
Kay has spent the past weeks trying to paint himself as a victim in all of this; maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. He posted the following video on July 9th, begging viewers not to simply believe everything they’re hearing online, and claiming there was some mastermind behind the whole thing using him and the other FaZe members as the face to cover up dirty dealings:
We’ve uncovered significant evidence that a dishonest person abused his trust with me to scam everybody. This person gained my trust and the trust of my friends while still encouraging us to be the public faces of his scheme.
Kay
Regardless, I can’t imagine this going to trial will turn out terribly well, for him at the very least. The smart thing would’ve probably been to keep quiet and carry on as if nothing had ever happened, Larry David style. But we’re mostly past that point, now. Neither side of this is likely to back down.
